Since 2022, we’ve donated over $75k to local organizations, youth programs, veterans’ initiatives, and charitable causes dedicated to making real change. To us, community is more than just a physical location. It’s a feeling. And we’re committed to preserving that feeling in everything we do.
Supporting Youth Through Sports and Education
The future of our community starts with the next generation, and we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and lead. That’s why we proudly support youth programs and education initiatives across the region.
- At Dauphin County Technical School, in collaboration with R.F. Fager and our founder, Bob Means, we worked directly with students as they completed a full rehab of a condemned Harrisburg home. We donated materials and instructions on how to approach the project. The project provided students with hands-on experience and a sense of pride in seeing their work have a real impact.
- On the field, our support for local youth sports promotes teamwork, discipline, and lifelong memories. It’s not just about wins and losses, it’s about building community, one game at a time.
🇺🇸 Standing With Our Veterans
At Bob Means Plumbing, supporting our veterans isn’t just something we do once a year; it’s a year-round commitment rooted in respect and gratitude. Our freedom is protected by the sacrifices of brave men and women, and we believe we must give back in meaningful ways to those who have served.
That’s why we proudly partner with Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania (VOPA), a local nonprofit dedicated to ending veteran homelessness by providing transitional housing and support services right here in Central PA. Their mission is to restore dignity, rebuild lives, and empower veterans towards a life they deserve.
Each year, we amplify this partnership through Military Appreciation Night with the Harrisburg Senators. We gathered with families, veterans, and supporters at the FNB Field to spend an evening watching baseball and fireworks while sending our heartfelt gratitude to our veterans.

Showing Up Locally: Community Events We’re Proud to Support
Being part of a community means actively participating in the events and moments that bring people together. Whether it’s a friendly competition or a fundraiser with a purpose, our team is always proud to get involved.
Last year, we took part in the 2nd Annual Cracked Pot Coffee Shop Golf Tournament. Cracked Pot Coffee isn’t just a local café–it’s a non-profit supporting youth as they transition into adulthood. Their program connects young people with therapists, life coaches, mentors, and job training to help gain stability. We’re honored to help amplify their mission, and we’re proud to support a local business that’s pouring so much back into the community. Spending the day on the course to help them continue that mission? An easy “yes” for our crew.
We also got in on the action at the Mechanicsburg Middle School “Dodge Hunger” Dodgeball Tournament, where students, staff, and community members battled it out in the name of school spirit and support. We had the opportunity to support local education and connect with the families we serve every day.
Because showing up locally isn’t just something we do, it’s who we are.
